Casual is perfect and the food is excellent!
Yes! The Woodfire does have gift cards and can be picked up anytime Wed - Sunday after 4
They have delicious pizza!
Best shrimp alfredo I've ever had!
Great food and great service
$$$. Menu tried to oversell the food. Special was overpriced. Appetizers were scallops (4). Waitstaff was best part of the event.
Sit at the bar. Chris makes the BEST drinks in the area; they're always nice and strong and he's very knowledgeable about alcohol and the area. Chef Cheryl runs a top notch kitchen. The food can't be beat.
Interesting menu with rotating specials geared toward seasonal offerings. Pizza and pasta are excellent and the bread basket is a unique starter.
My wife and i stumbled upon this establishment, We were really impressed with the atmosphere and gave it a try. First off the staff was great, beyond great! Then we got to the food, Having traveled the world and sampled a huge variety of dishes, Let me say this was in the top 5.The Salmon was cooked to perfection! the prime rib was also perfect! Then the desert tray came around, The chocolate cake was perfect. To the Staff and management: You are a TOP notch restaurant! I will be back.Thank you,Matt
Love this place! It's thirty minutes from my house, and I drive here just to eat. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet upscale at the same time. Food is excellent and so is the staff! I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here.
We had steak and the pasta and everything was excellent. The prime rib special was huge, we all chipped in to eat it. The decor was really cool with a canoe hanging from the ceiling. The service was excellent, very attentive and very fast.
A wonderful Italian restaurant located in historic downtown Dowagiac!
A cozy spot where you least expect to find a phenomenal meal. Everything Ive ordered from the menu has been amazing!
Love the atmosphere & the food is terrific! I especially loved the fried gnocchi's that they use in their salads instead of croutons.
Excellent place to stumble across! First time in the town but Wood Fire was highly recommended. I don’t know where those who said the portions were small went because it definitely doesn’t match our experience. My wife only made it thru about of if her plate and I through 3/4 of the lasagna before calling it quits. The prices were on the top side of our budget but the food was excellent and the waitstaff attentive. Great atmosphere and all around good experience!
Wonderful food every time!
Loved the atmosphere and the food.
This is the absolute best food I have ever had. Always have great service and the food is always amazing!
Great atmosphere, great food, friendly staff.
You'll pay a pretty penny to visit Wood Fire, but it's well worth the price. The wood fire Naples Pizza is especially great! Atmosphere here is wonderful and the staff is exceptional. If you want to feel like you've gone somewhere special, Wood Fire is the perfect place to go 😊
My fiance and I went for Valentine's Day this year. Our first appetizer was good but cold we enjoyed the bread plate and salad. I ordered the shrimp alfredo and it was okay at best, it lacked flavor and was very oily. My finance had the whiskey infused steak dinner and it was probably the worst steak he'd ever received, the cut was terrible it was very tough and full of veins and the preparation was all wrong the potato's that came with it we're old and cold it was pretty bad considering it was a $30 entree. Overall it was not worth the money we spent. Maybe their food was not up to par because it was such a busy night but even still I'd expect way better quality for the price.
I really would like to rave about this place, but there were several issues. First the pros. The building looks great. The high ceilings and decor really work. The wait staff were friendly and attentive the night we were there. The beer menu is long and the wine menu adequate. The food menu looks very inviting. There were misses on the food. My pasta bolognese was pretty good. It was well seasoned and had a lot of meat. The pasta was well drained but a bit overcooked. The meatballs were just ok and a bit tough. We had the 4 cheese pizza. Unfortunately the crust was tough and undercooked with raw dough in the edges. Not what I expected from a wood oven. The pasta marinara was so watery the sauce did not stick to the noodles. It appeared to be a quick cook sauce with almost raw tomatoes. The wild mushroom pasta was good, but it appeared it was not drained well and it was sitting in a pool of thin liquid.I will try it again and hope we just were there on a bad night.
Nice atmosphere and good food.
Loved the stuffed asparagus appetizer and stuffed pork chop. Jen is always great as a server.
although its a bit on the pricier side, my spouse and i LOOOOVE the woodfire! their food is unlike anything ive ever had before! from the bread w/balsamic & oil dipping sauce to their steak entree (ribeye i believe), everything is cooked/ prepared to perfection and is insanely delicious. the restaurant itself is gorgeous, and so far we've had nothing but great service from everyone who works there. definitely worth the splurge! the woodfire is officially the restaurant we go to for our anniversary and special occasions
Even during the lock down you can enjoy their great food. Wednesday night spaghetti is only $3.99 but even better than that you must try their Sunday special of Pasta Bolognese for only $4.99.Being on lockdown because of the virus, I've been trying out different places to get carry out.Doubt miss it very the Pasta Bolognese!!!
My wife and I love Woodfire! We live in Elkhart, Indiana and this place is so worth the 40 minute drive just for dinner. The bread plate is to die for. We first decided to try it out for Valentine’s Day and we had such a great. We then went for my wife’s birthday and we had the same server. Joni, is such a kind person and a wonderful server. She always goes above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need. When she found out it was my wife’s birthday she brought her a slice of delectable chocolate cake with a candle. We can’t rave enough about this place and the food!
Absolutely loved it! Service from Shannon was perfect, she was friendly, funny and just a all around great server. Food was unbelievable! I had the crab crusted Australian whitefish , never even looked at the salt or pepper shakers. The flavors were just blended to perfection. We WILL be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience😊
First time there today and everything we had was amazing great atmosphere friendly staff overall amazing only downside to this place it's a hour from my house hahahah!!!!
Everything was great! Atmosphere service everything
The food was overpriced for the quality I ordered mushroom lasagna. Meaning from the title the mushroom should be the star of the dish. I couldn't taste mushroom. Secondly the tomatoes were from a can I could tell from the sour taste that they gave of. All I could taste was the sour tomatoes. The price was around 23 dollars can remember exact price but it was in the low twenty's. Also the service was not very good at all. And the manager seemed very rude. Would not recommend going there.
AMAZING FOOD, very friendly staff. Great for a date night or special occasion
Authentic Italian food prepared fresh & served hot; high class environment for any town; let alone Dowagiac, Michigan; recently remodeled and the whole place is classy; authentic pictures from the historical museum decorate the walls, with a local artist having painted the murals in the private dining room. It's top of the line, all the way.
Food was not worth the price we paid. Ordered the brochettes appetizer and could not finish it. Tasted like pure vinegar. First piece turned my stomach. Ordered the 50/50 cheese and meat ravioli got thee of each for $20.00! Tasted like it was reheated. Will not return my business!
The food is excellent. We were here for a rehearsal dinner. We had roughly 25 people in this party but only 1 waiter. Understandably the food came out slow but it did not disappoint. Our glasses stayed filled and we were checked on often. The room that we had was nice. Doors closed so the kids were contained and not bothering the rest of the restuarant. All in all a good experience.
In dowagiac for work, need to find a place to eat that has vegetarian food. After reading some fairly good reviews we went to wood fire. Menu is a pretty pricey for a little country town of Dowagiac Probably geared toward Chicago Lake owners. Had the mushroom lasagna and the veggie pizza. Flavors with good presentation was nice. House salad side salad was great. I recommended Gorgonzola dressing. The server seemed kind of rushed but overall wasn't bad.
Food is amazing. Good selection of local brews. Bruchetta is to die for. Nice warm cozy atemosphere.
Delicious food, beautiful presentation. A little rich, but super tasty. I really enjoyed the mushroom lasagna & for dessert, the apple pie type dessert. I also appreciated the Roman-era replica paintings in the large room our group ate in.
If you want a great meal in Michiana, this is the place.
We had a wonderful meal eating in but mostly like getting the pizza to go. We order from you once a month and tonight when paying for our 2 pizzas I was a bit shocked that the bill was $46!!!You charge $16 for someone to add 4 toppings to the pizzas!!! That’s ridiculous!! We will not be back.
Amazing place! Been a fan for 10+ years!
Food was very very tasty. Service was fantastic. Love the old building and the fact that they kept a lot of old machinery inside.
Food is good. Service was good for new years eve
Wonderful food and great service. We attended an anniversary party that was held in the separate part of the restaurant, comfortably seated about 30 people at a large banquet table. Nice atmosphere, really enjoyed it.
Me and my wife went there for the 1st time and had a great dinner and the atmosphere was very good very pleasant time there service was excellent
In all the years that we have been eating here...we have never been disappointed! The food is always delicious, the service is great and their bartenders amazing. Great martinis, the Italian pot roast, pastas, pizza, and soups couldn't be better!!
Alway great food and service!
Delicious meal and very pleasant service and atmosphere. The price was just right.
Excellent food with great service!
Food was disappointing! Took the family there for mom's 95th birthday. Disappointed with calamari and bruschetta and the mushroom lasagna special. It was all very tasteless and disappointing. Server was amazing hence the 2 stars.
Atmosphere was great. Food was delicious and the options were great. Gluten free pasta was not celiac friendly and my guess, maybe not cooked in clean water. It made me really sick. So if you aren’t a celiac...definitely go, but if you are, stay away. 😕
Friendly service! Delicious! Recommend the Rootbeer Bomb and shrimp alfredo!
